At St Paul’s Academy, we are prepared to provide high-quality remote education to ensure that learning continues effectively during any period of disruption. This information outlines our provision for students who are unable to attend the Academy site due to operational issues or other unforeseen circumstances.

Google Classroom is the primary platform for teaching and learning at St Paul’s Academy. All students are provided with unique login credentials and are expected to be confident in navigating this digital environment.
Availability of Work: Subject teachers will aim to provide remote learning materials at the start of the school day for any scheduled lessons.
Curriculum Alignment: Remote work is designed to follow the same planned and well-sequenced curriculum as on-site lessons, ensuring students maintain progress alongside their peers.
When learning remotely, students are encouraged to maintain a structured routine:
Engagement: Students should attempt to follow their usual Academy timetable to ensure all subjects are covered throughout the week.
Submission of Work: Completed tasks should be uploaded via Google Classroom in a timely manner. This allows teachers to track engagement and provide necessary support.
Communication: Students may use the Google Classroom stream or private comments to seek clarification on tasks during typical school hours.
Teachers will provide:
High-Quality Resources: A blend of teacher-led instructions, digital resources (such as Oak National Academy or BBC Bitesize), and independent tasks.
Feedback: Teachers will check for student understanding and provide feedback in line with departmental assessment schedules.
Adaptation: Work will be reviewed and adjusted where necessary to respond to the needs of the students learning from home.
Maintaining our community spirit is a priority. During periods of remote education, the Academy implements the KIT Strategy. Pastoral teams and Form Tutors will make periodic contact with families to offer support, monitor wellbeing, and ensure students feel connected to the St Paul's community.
SEND: Students with EHC plans will be supported by their assigned Key Worker or the SEND department to ensure that remote tasks are accessible and that their specific learning needs are met.
Digital Access: The Academy is committed to reducing barriers to remote learning. If a student has limited access to a device or a reliable internet connection, parents should contact the Academy to discuss support options, which may include equipment loans or physical resources.
The Academy’s Safeguarding and Child Protection policies remain in full effect during any period of remote learning. Any concerns regarding the safety or wellbeing of a student should be reported immediately through the Academy’s established safeguarding channels.
This information is reviewed regularly to ensure it remains aligned with Department for Education (DfE) expectations for high-quality remote education.
