Interim Academy Building

Arrangements before the construction of the new building

Saint Paul's Catholic School was located on the Wickham Lane site where the interim Academy building is now.

The interim arrangements have seen the site benefiting from the modernisation of its existing facilities. The additional temporary buildings enable the Academy to provide a curriculum which is able to meet the needs of all students. Facilities include:

• Drama and music studios;
• Art and design workshops;
• A suite of science laboratories;
• A large network of computers, which allows easy access to all students to support learning.

The original school building has also been upgraded with:

• Suites of teaching rooms for English and Communications, Religion and Society and Mathematics;
• A restaurant that will provide hot breakfasts and lunches for all staff and students.

The Academy during the transition period

The intake of the Academy, while at Wickham Lane site, will be smaller than when it moves to the Abbey Wood site. Because of a lack of space the intake numbers are lower than will be the case when the new building is completed at Abbey Wood. The facilities at Wickham Lane can accommodate an increased number of students because of the size of the temporary buildings.
