Daily Timings

The day begins when the school opens. This will be at 7.00 am allowing the students, after they record their attendance as they pass through the electronically operated entry points, to begin their day. They have the opportunity to complete unfinished work; print off assignments they have completed at home or they can just sit down and catch up with the events of last evening with their friends. The building will be open and the students will not be expected to 'wait outside until the bell rings'.

Lessons begin at 8.15am (most of the Saint Paul's Catholic School students were in at that time anyway). The first lesson ends at 9.45 am. The extra 15 minutes are included in the first lesson to allow each class a breakfast break that is taken in rotation.

The period 10.55 to 11.15 am is when each student meets his/her personal tutor in their tutor group.

Issues that present the students some difficulties, attendance monitoring, Academy business and announcements and delivering elements of the citizenship curriculum makes this an important personal time for each student. At least once a week the students will participate in a collective religious service in an assembly led by the principal during this tutor time.
