About 75 students took part in this new activity, attempting to continually use two rowing machines from 8.30am - 3.30pm.
Two of the school's rowing machines were brought down and set up in the reception area, on Wednesday 21 March. The students challenge was to use the machines and attempt to row the equivalent distance from the Thames Barrier to Windsor Castle, via all the London bridges and sites along the Thames. This distance was 51 miles or a total of 82,000 metres, on each machine.
Students in all year groups worked extremely hard, with other students encouraging them in order to achieve their target. Although, our target wasn't achieved in total the students managed to row a distance of 93 miles or 149,668 metres, on the two machines. What an outstanding achievement by everyone.
No doubt this activity will be firmly part of our schools Enterprise activities in the future.
