The school allotment continues to flourish. The good sunshine at Easter saw a number of crops really take off and during the last few weeks we have been harvesting them. Lee Knowles, the school chef, has been able to use our crops for the first time when manufacturing his culinary delights in the school restaurant. Beetroot, broadbeans, cucumbers, onions and yellow courgettes have been exceptional.

Hopefully when we return in September the tomatoes, peppers and aubergines will be ready for picking. Pupils working on the allotment have enjoyed seeing the crops develop from seed to an edible product which has been organically grown.

Staff, on sunny days have enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the memorial garden. This year we have created a wild flower and fruit bush area. Hopefully, next term we will run a gardening club after school and develop the allotment further.
