
The community of Saint Paul’s was delighted to welcome newly crowned British Heptathlon record holder and London 2012 Olympic gold medal hope Jessica Ennis to the Academy. As part of the Olympic trail of inspiring London to the Games in July, Jessica on behalf of Aviva, was welcomed by not only students of Saint Paul’s but of a number of local primary and secondary schools, on what was a glorious sun-filled day of sporting celebration and inspiration.
Jessica recently won Gold at Götzis in Austria, notching up a record points total of 6,906 beating the old British best of 6,831 which was set by Denise Lewis in 2000. The event was her last competitive heptathlon before the London Games begin in July.
