In order to increase the awareness of Dementia, a small number of residents from Weybourne Care Home, were given the opportunity of working along side some of our students in a range of activities, at the Academy.
After making their way from the care home, the residents began their morning with Food Technology, decorating gingerbread men, with different coloured icing and then adding sugar strands and milk chocolate beans. Next was ICT, designing their name on the computer, using different colours, fonts and picture designs.

The third activity was Art. Residents were given their initial and they happily painted their letter and then added stickers to finish their individual work. Residents were supported and encouraged by a few students in Year 9 & 10, during these three activities.
Then at last, time to relax for the residents, with a cup of tea and biscuits, whilst Year 9 students from the Music department sung a selection of songs, accompanied by students playing the guitar and keyboard.

A very successful activity with the residents returning to Weybourne, taking with them their handy crafts, after having a very enjoyable morning.
