Advent Charity Appeal 2011

Advent Charity Appeal.

After launching the Advent Charity Appeal with a Mufti Day, staff and students took part in a Fun Run in early December.

Twenty two staff teams leaders, with their teams of students were encouraged by Mr Innocent who led a very lively warm up, preparing everyone for their physical efforts. Members of staff and sixty students from Boxgrove Primary school, also took part in the run.
Over £1000 was raised by this event.

The following week the students worked hard to prepare for the Christmas Fayre, which was a huge success, with a wide variety of stalls and activities. These included the seasonal crafts and Christmas cards for sell, as well as face painting, raffles, paper areoplane targets, pegs on face and an enormous selection of cakes, biscuits, pancakes and waffles to buy. Overall, a very enjoyable activity, raising alot of money for our Advent Charity Appeal.

Many other events took place during the remainder of the term with a talent show, students watching video's and a variety of sports activities, all raising more money.

This year's fund raising had a particularly celebratory feel as our campus allows us to develop whole school activities and events and staff and students are very willing to give their time and money in supporting our Advent Charity Appeal.

As we approached the end of the Christmas term we had exceeded our target and raised in excess of £6,500. This is our greatest achievement, to date for our Advent Appeal.
