This year the Academy, during the Advent Charity Appeal, will be working raising money for three different organisations:
- Sister Anne and her work with education in Kenya
- Saint David’s Church, Finchale Road, Abbey Wood
- Weybourne Care Home, Finchale Road, Abbey Wood
The Academy has set a target of £6,000.
Our Advent Charity will be launched on Friday 26th November with a themed Mufti Day.
Three other main activities will be taking place during the Advent Appeal:
- Wednesday 1st December – Sponsored Advent Run – start time 2.30
- Wednesday 8th December – Christmas Fayre 2.45 – 4.30
- Wednesday 15th December – Christmas Dinner – local residents, Parish Priest and residents and carers from Weybourne Care Home will be invited.
Throughout December numerous small activities and events will also be taking place by students involving each learning zone.
A formal presentation to the organisations will take place during January, where the Academy will hand over 3 cheques, hopefully after achieving their target of £6,000.
