Year 7 students will NOT be issued with lockers.  If this changes parents/carers will be notified in advance.

Curriculum Information

Here at St Paul's Academy, we operate a three year Key Stage 4 meaning our students embark on their GCSE courses in Year 9.

Key Stage 3 - Year 7 and 8

Pupils study the following subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, Religious Studies, PE, MFL, History, Geography

In order to ensure that all students have the experience of studying the creative subjects, we operate a carousel system for the following:

  • Art and Design
  • Food and Nutrition
  • Music
  • Dance
  • Drama
  • Resistant Materials
  • Textiles
  • ICT/Computer Science

 

Key Stage 4 - Year 9, 10 and 11

Pupils study the following core subjects: English Language GCSE, English Literature GCSE, Mathematics GCSE, Science GCSE(s), Religious Studies GCSE, Core PE and Vocational ICT or Computer Science GCSE

In the Spring term of Year 8, students will make their option choices with guidance from their pastoral team and their subject teachers.

  • Art and Design (GCSE and BTEC)
  • Construction and the Built Environment BTEC

  • Business Studies GCSE

 

The SPA Achieve Programme is offered to some of our students via the Inclusion Learning Zone. This programme incorporates BTEC Citizenship alongside a wide range of social, media, ICT, literacy and numeracy skills and promotes teamwork, health & fitness, online safety and food preparation.
