Academy's specialisms

Sport and Business & Enterprise

Two features of the Academy are the specialisms in Sport and Enterprise which have been incorporated into the day-to-day life of its students. Some characteristics of the two specialisms are common to both and, in a specialist school setting, are implemented throughout the curriculum. Some of these common elements are:

• The ability to work in teams and groups;
• Co-operating with others;
• Recognising that personal skills are different and complementary to those of others;
• Being able to negotiate;
• Making personal decisions;
• Learning that effort and endeavour gains success;
• Respecting and responding to the decisions of others.
